MGI 2026: Relating to and Motivating Young Adolescents
Dates: June 22-June 26, 2026
The focus of this summer's institute is Relating to and Motivating Young Adolescents The Institute will prepare educators, teams, and schools to examine middle grades practice through a culturally, socially, and developmentally appropriate framework to design learning communities that motivate all students by understanding their unique nature, needs, and interests.
Join us for the MGI 2026 Institute through one of three week-long formats: 1) Convene in person at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT, 2) Convene in person at a local area middle school in Vermont, or 3) completely remote and online.
As always, participants may attend in teams or individually, and will have access to interactive workshops, thought-provoking presentations, and facilitated planning time. Here is the proposed schedule for the week.
You can enroll at the Middle Grades Institute for 40 hours of re-licensure credit ($1600) or for 3 graduate credits ($2000). Here are the five course offerings:
