MGI 2026: Relating to and Motivating Young Adolescents
Dates: June 22-June 24, 2026
The theme of this summer's institute is Relating to and Motivating Young Adolescents. The Institute will prepare educators, teams, and schools to examine middle grades practice through a culturally, socially, and developmentally appropriate framework to design learning communities that motivate all students by understanding their unique nature, needs, and interests.
Join us for the MGI 2026 Institute at one of two campuses: Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT or Saint Johnsbury School in Saint Johnsbury, VT.
As always, participants may attend in teams or individually, and will have access to interactive workshops, thought-provoking presentations, and facilitated planning time.
You can enroll for the Middle Grades Institute for 30 hours of re-licensure credit ($1600). If you are looking for graduate credit, participants can earn it by attending MGI and then participating in the Middle Grades Conversations Webinar on the third Thursday 3:15-4:30 pm of each month during fall 2026. Three graduate credits are an additional $400. If you choose the credit option, here are the five course offerings:
1. Middle Grades Curriculum (ML endorsement course) 2. Middle Grades Instruction and Assessment (ML endorsement course) 3. Young Adolescent Growth and Development (ML endorsement course) 4. Middle Grades Organization (ML endorsement course) 5. Relating to and Motivating Young Adolescents
