The focus of this summer's institute is Reigniting Middle Grades Practice and will include rich opportunities to draw connections between this theme and your teaching goals.
The 31st Annual Institute prepares educators, middle school teams, and schools to implement responsive learning environments that address students’ diverse needs, interests, and identities. In the interest of providing service to our rural communities, this summer we are providing participants with the option to attend the Institute at either Saint Michael's College, Colchester, VT or at Lake Region Union High School in Orleans, VT.
As always, participants may attend in teams or individually, and will have access to interactive workshops, thought-provoking presentations, and facilitated planning time. Here is the proposed schedule for the week.
Here are the five course offerings:
1. Middle Grades Curriculum 2. Middle Grades Instruction and Assessment 3. Young Adolescent Growth and Development 4. Middle Grades Organization 5. Reigniting Middle Grades Practice
You can enroll at the Middle Grades Institute for 40 hours of re-licensure credit ($1600) or for 3 graduate credits ($2000).
MGI is committed to a humane work and learning environment. The balance of in-person learning may be adjusted during the week in response to conditions and need.
